Is there a chill in the air? Even just a little? Then it's time for pumpkin pie. Pumpkin Pie Artisan Vodka, that is! We just released our first ever seasonal flavor. Here for just a blink of an eye...or end of November...whatever comes first. We made our Pumpkin Pie vodka with real pumpkin purée and spices, following our family’s traditional (yet secret) baked pumpkin pie recipe. We promise it's not cloying. In fact, it's fairly delicate. Ideal for dessert cocktails and for pairing with braised short ribs, roasted quail and pecan pie.

We wanted to create a truly American flavor to celebrate the holidays!

Notes

James Beard. Relived!

We're back from our (sold-out!) James Beard dinner in New York and we have pictures to prove it!

We had a brilliant (and entertaining) time with Nic's owner and chef extraordinaire, Larry Nicola and his right hand, Ariel Carpenter. The 24th  had its share of nail-biting moments...would the lamb get there in time...would the semifreddo set...was there enough vodka to hold the all-volunteer kitchen crew?

Don't worry. Dinner went off without a hitch!

Diners told us they enjoyed the experience. We had a great time meeting them, too. We were also very touched by how many family, friends, chefs, staff and donors went out of their way to make our night so special. We can't thank them enough!

DIY Pairing | Guava Cheesecake + Pumpkin Pie Vodka
Created by Chef Kevin Schantz | minibar  (Hollywood)

The silky smoothness of cream cheese mixed with exotic tones of tropical guava are an interesting counterpoint to a sip of Pumpkin Pie vodka. It's North America meets South America.

Guava Cheese Cake...aka Spanish Harlem vs. Little Italy -- serves 8

FILLING

3 lbs Philadelphia cream cheese

1 1/2 cups guava puree

4 eggs

1 1/2 cups sugar

CRUST

4 cups crushed Graham crackers
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup melted butter

PREPARATION

FILLING | In Kitchen Aid mixer with paddle attachment, mix cream cheese and guava puree until smooth. Add eggs and sugar and continue to mix until incorporated.

CRUST | In a medium mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Preheat oven to 350.

In spring form pan, line the bottom and the sides of the pan evenly with the Graham cracker mixture. Fill the crust 3/4 of the way full with the cream cheese mixture, bake for 1 1/2 hours.

Remove from oven and let cool. Once cool refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

DIY Cocktail | Pumpkin Shake
Created by Jackson Brooke, our own Associate Vodkamaker

Jackson took the Everything Nice recipe we'd created at the Fruit Lab for Pumpkin Pie vodka and made it into a blended drink for his house warming party. The consensus? Seconds, please!

1 scoop vanilla ice cream
1/2 oz simple syrup

Splash of orange liqueur

3 large ice cubes
